The California Cottage
Our California Cottage project is especially close to my heart—it’s my own home, layered with vintage finds, travel treasures, and modern updates that keep it fresh and livable. The living room is warm and inviting, with a snug reading nook, vintage-meets-modern furnishings, and personal collections that make it perfect for both everyday family life and hosting friends. A cozy breakfast nook glows under a Moroccan lantern, paired with custom cabinetry that showcases serveware, while the adjoining laundry and pantry maximize every inch with smart pull-out storage, proving small spaces can be both beautiful and highly functional. The kids’ bathroom takes a playful yet practical approach with bold blue tile, a roomy vanity, and hidden storage that meet the needs of growing children. In the primary bathroom, serene green tile and black-and-white checkerboard floors set a coastal-inspired tone, complemented by a secluded water closet with wainscoting and grasscloth, a generous vanity, and polished nickel fixtures for a touch of hotel-like luxury. Sunlit and serene, the primary bedroom balances function and beauty with statement lighting, a custom bench, and compact desks in place of nightstands, all set against a neutral palette with soothing blues and a mix of vintage and modern pieces for depth. Together, these rooms embody the spirit of the California Cottage—collected, personal, and ever-evolving.
